New World Server Merger Is Finally Happening

Amazon will be merging some New World servers when data shows "the world experience has become sub-adoptable."

Two months after the massive launch of New World, Amazon Game Studios has begun merging servers amid a drop in player numbers.

The game's first server merge, the central EU server Mardi, will merge into the EU server Britia. It was supposed to take place on December 8th, but after widespread Amazon Web Services impacting the New World, it would be December 9th instead. Two more mergers, this time for all the servers that make up the Central EU Oneheim Terra World set and the South American Nibiru Mu World set, will take place on 10 December.

Those mergers are likely to be just the beginning. New World saw over 900,000 concurrent players shortly after launch, leading to long login queue times. In response, Amazon increasingly built new servers for players to create characters for, later promising free server transfers. Fast forward to now, and the end result of server transfers and a dwindling active player base is that many of the game's servers built to reduce login problems are now ghost towns with only a few hundred active players. While the game is still popular, at the time of writing it is the fourth most played game on Steam, with a peak concurrent player count of over 114,000, with simply more servers than players to fill them.

Amazon recently released an FAQ detailing how and why one server might be merged into another, stating that the experience turned out to be "sub-optimal" on the world if the studio's data showed that it will start looking for servers into which it can be merged. To determine if a server might be "unhealthy," Amazon says it looks at population size, overall player engagement, and more.

Once it is determined that a server merge is needed, Amazon begins looking for a host server to merge the other servers with. That investigation involves comparing things like faction balance, language, and game play style between different servers before making a decision.

Progress is not lost when one server merges with another with the transfer of gold, commodities, companies, houses, and so on. The only thing that doesn't transfer are the ownership areas, which are left in the control of the players on the host server who will accept new players from the merge. This throws a wrinkle in the game's PvP-focused faction warfare, which aims to own as many territories as possible, but beats the option of playing on almost empty servers with little or no competition.

Amazon recently rolled back a controversial change it proposed for New World's endgame, one that would have made gear derived from crafting less effective if players failed to participate in certain endgame activities. . That will no longer be the case, although some elements of the upcoming system, called specialisations, are still expected to arrive in future patches. New seasonal content, as well as other endgame changes, are currently being tested in the game's public test area.

COD Warzone Season 4 release date and update file size

COD Warzone Season 4 release date: The new season is here and it's big, too. Read on for details on COD Season 4 and what it offers.

The long-awaited update of Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 4 promises tons of new features and content for the game in the central multiplayer and its free component Battlezone Battle Royale. The last season was initially scheduled for June 3, 2020; however, it had to be delayed due to nationwide protests in the United States over the tragic death of George Floyd with the 'Black Lives Matters' movement taking center stage in the national conversation.

COD Warzone Season 4 release date

The new COD Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 4 will launch on June 10 at 11 p.m. PT and June 11 at 2 a.m. ET, respectively. The developers have also warned users that the new update will consume a large amount of data. According to Gaming Lyf, the update sizes for Season 4 will be 34.7 GB on PlayStation 4, 48.9 GB on Xbox One, 44.3 GB on PC for F2P, and 49.7 GB for the full version on PC.

Infinity Ward communications manager Ashton Williams also previously stated that one of the reasons the new season update is so big is because the team is working to manage the game's overall footprint, which is another perpetual problem. for Modern Warfare and Warzone.

He also claimed that the developers have reduced the total disk space occupied by the game, which reached 200 GB at the time, by compressing the assets. Compressed resources mean that the total size of the season update should take up an additional 4 GB on game consoles.

What's new in COD Warzone Season 4

There has been no official detail on what the new COD Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 4 will bring to the game; However, there have been several leaks suggesting the addition of new weapons. Data miners have also managed to get details of the different weapon models that will be seen in the game. These include the APC9, Vector, and Galil.

Naturally, a battle pass will also be included along with multiplayer maps like Scrapyard, a range of cosmetics, and more. Furthermore, there will also be many major bug fixes and some quality of life changes.

Destiny 2 Sunset Weapon System

Destiny 2 Game Director Explains Weapon Sunset.

Sam Game Zone

This fall, the studio will set a limit on the power of old weapons, which will make it less useful in activities requiring the most powerful equipment. Players will still be able to use these old weapons, but not in activities such as raids, dungeons, Nights, or Tests of Osiris.

With the June 9 release of Bungie announcing Destiny 2: Beyond Light this fall, the studio announced plans for sunset planets and old events, as well as introducing Destiny's content repository, recreating activities like Vault of Glass. Since the weapon spell is still in place, players are worried about what their arsenals will look like this fall. We talked with game director Luke Smith about why sunset spells for weapons are the right move for Destiny 2

“We created the [Infusion] system and, you know, I think it has many really positive properties, but I think it also has many really negative properties,” Smith said. Players needed Infusion, but this was always a temporary solution to a more serious problem.

Infusion - the art of delivering powerful weapons to a beloved, weaker weapon to make a weaker weapon more powerful - did not exist before the expansion of The Taken King in the original Destiny. Bangui wanted players to be able to use their favorite gear, rather than getting stuck in something they didn't like in order to stay at higher power.

Less than two years after the appearance of Infusion, Destiny players switched from a ship to Destiny 2 and had to replace their entire arsenal. But this fall, Destiny 2 will begin its fourth year of updates. Players can choose from hundreds of weapons - more than Destiny 1 players have ever had access to.
And that is where the problems of Infusion begin to emerge. “It's very interesting to dream about new things,” Smith said, but Destiny players used the same weapon - for example, the Leviathan raid’s Midnight Coup handgun - for three years.

According to Smith, this new system of maximum power will create a "permanent supervision of the deck of cards." “This is our way of continuing the pursuit of the world's persecution,” Smith explained that this is an alternative to switching to a new game or deleting a player’s current arsenal. Players can still use the weapons they love, but the new system encourages them to move on if they want to stay competitive. Limiting maximum power is a permanent solution to the Infusion problem introduced five years ago.

With a studio announcing Beyond Light this fall, The Witch Queen next year, and Lightfall a year after that, it’s clear that Bungie has a long-term plan on where Destiny 2 will go. But before he can get there, Bangui must fix her past mistakes.

Two things have been clear since the launch of Warlords: NPCs were too powerful, and crowd control (CC) skills were too high. One became a necessary evil to fight with the other, and therefore we did not want to make any changes to the CC skills before tackling the main problem of NPC balance. We believe that setting up NPCs and scaling them to different difficulty levels is much better / healthier compared to TU9.1, and the generous amount of buffs for weapon damage and equipment entering the TU10 will only outweigh the scales in TU9.1. In order to maintain a healthy balance between players and non-player characters at the highest difficulties and to maintain the integrity of our endgame vision, we now need to turn to the power of crowd control skills.

The changes described above were made to make the dedicated crowd controller assemblies more consistent with what we expect from their contribution to the fireteam team. SS effects act as powerful force multipliers, multiplying the strength of each individual in a team, completely reducing/preventing incoming damage, and allowing damage dealers to do so with impunity. The current settings for CC effects on the living (TU9.1) lead to the fact that NPCs, even on legendary complexity, were captured/blinded/destroyed/entangled longer than reloading the skill itself, which prevents them from defending themselves or striking back once. the CC effect has disappeared. This inevitably leads to situations where the only group in which there is a dedicated crowd controller will be threatened only when the NPC is immune by reducing the return on the continuous reapplication of CC effects, or the CC effect itself will not be registered or applied upon activation.

A more insidious and less visible consequence of overcoming the effects of crowd control is that it impedes the desire or need for any other form of group composition that is not 1x CC 3x DPS. Why should you consider taking a tank or a healer with you if your crowd control essentially does the work of both? There is no need for a healer if the group never takes damage, and there is no need for a tank if the NPCs are always disabled or rooted in place.

It is important to emphasize that none of these changes were made to prevent the mob from engaging in a shootout. In fact, we are more than confident that the dedicated crowd controller assemblies will remain the backbone of any heroic or legendary group due to how powerful these CC effects are, despite their reduced uptime. We hope that what we really anticipate is a rethinking of what needs to be done for the next shootout and that perhaps the value of the healers/tanks will increase, as the proposal to smooth out irregularities between crowd control capabilities will become something worth to consider.

PUBG Mobile Season 13 set to arrive on May 13

The new PUBG Mobile update is set to bring the Toy Playground Royale Pass on May 13.

The new PUBG Mobile 0.18.0 update with Season 13 is finally going live on the main PUBG Mobile last week. Tencent Games released the new update which brings the Mad Miramar update along with the Golden Mirado, reworked Win 94, P90 weapon, canted sight, and other things. The new update weighs 1.74GB and can be downloaded from the store. The new update is set to bring the Toy Playground Royale Pass on May 13.

Miramar is the second map to be added to PUBG and has remained the same since. The map has been updated on the PC version of the game last year. And this new update seems to bring those changes to the PUBG Mobile version of the map as well. The devs have also updated the results screen UI. It is set to feature some statistics about the guns used as well as the most damage caused to different target areas of the body. The Golden Mirado skin which was introduced to PUBG PC a while back is coming to PUBG Mobile as well. Only one Golden Mirado will spawn on Miramar.

A video posted on Twitter shows some of the reworks done to the Miramar map. This includes the new Ruins locale along with a new Race Track. There’s also a new Oasis region to the north of the map. Besides the new Golden Mirado, the devs have also added a 2.7x Scope to Win94 as well. This will make the weapon more versatile and easier to use.

The Canted Sight attachment has also been introduced with this Mad Miramar update. The Canted Sight helps players attach a scope along with it which means that guns can be used for long and short ranges at the same time. A new gun, which is the P90 SMG is making its way to the Arena Mode. Vending machines are also being added to the game which will drop painkillers and energy drinks. There is also a Cheer Park feature being added.
